I was raised on a dairy farm, took college preparatory classes in High School and was always interested in matters of a spiritual nature. Upon graduation, my path took me into the United States Marines and todistant corners of the globe-Viet Nam being my last duty station. Upon returning to the United States for discharge, I discovered that my blood pressure was dangerously high from 15 months in combat areas. I began attending a Hatha Yoga class and my teacher announced that she had seen a poster for an introductory lecture on Transcendental Meditation and invited the class to join her.

I did so and the mediation process made perfect sense to me. I began meditating in June of 1970 and this technique tool in my inventory, granting me excellent health as well as exemplary blood pressure and a less stressed nervous system. I have since trained in Tai Chi and am a Reiki II Practitioner. I began work at Budweiser distributor in 1968, driving semi-tractor trailer there for 20 years until I fully realized the pain that the product I was delivering was sometime causing. I left and began work for Ocean Spray Cranberries in 1989 and I am looking forward to retiring in 2 years. At that time, I will be free to pursue a more active part in the Karuna Foundation. Sandra Swales and I divorced in 1993, but thankfully remained best friends.

Our spiritual paths paralleled and I was very fortunate to have met Geshe Dechok through Sandra. He is a man unlike any other I have known. I admire his hard work and selfless dedication to His Holiness and Karuna Foundation. Digital photography is a hobby of mine and I have enjoyed documenting Geshe Demchok’s healings and visits. I have gladly agreed to sponsor a student of Geshe Dechok’s. I am honored to serve in this way and dedicate myself to serving the Karuna Foundation
